Pinckney Couples Session | Jerry & Sara

A former coworker of mine recommended Sara to me for her Pinckney couples session. It always feels so good to hear that they heard about me from someone else. It’s like a nice little pat on the back. We chatted back and forth via email talking about what she was hoping to get out of the session. See Jerry and Sara’s engagement and wedding plans had been foiled due to COVID. They didn’t get a chance to get photos before and just did a quick wedding ceremony, so these were to be the kick off of their photos together.

A New Pinckney Favorite

Together we decided that Schell Family Farm, with their huge sunflowers and sweeping wildflower field, would serve as the backdrop for their Pinckney couple’s session. The new farm opened up its fields to the public last year. I saw them announce their plans in a Pinckney Facebook group. Having such a magnificent location so close to home is incredibly exciting. Usually I am traveling all over Michigan for my sessions and weddings that staying local for once is a nice change. Schell Family Farm’s game plan includes a pumpkin patch, an apple orchard, a wedding venue, and a tree farm. Such a great location for photos throughout year. I can’t wait to host mini sessions and couples there in the future!

Taste of Autumn

The day of their Pinckney couples session the sun shined bright and temps were perfect. We made our way toward the back of the wildflower field stopping along the way to snag a few photos. Sara’s sister gifted the couple a wooden sign that she burned their last name and wedding date into. Jerry and Sara brought it along to use as a prop in a few of their photos. I love when couples bring things that have great meaning with them to their sessions. The items just add that extra special touch to the images.

When we were all done we found our way out of the fields stopping at the welcome tent for cider slushies and cinnamon donuts. The combo is the epitome of autumn food in my opinion. The farm also includes five sunflowers with each hour booked, so the couple and I got a bouquet to take home.
