Capturing the Magic of a Pinecrest Northwoods Wedding in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

When it comes to wedding photography, every once in a while, you’re lucky enough to stumble upon a venue that feels like it was plucked straight out of a fairytale. Located in the Upper Peninsula, Pinecrest Northwoods in Republic, MI, stands out as a truly enchanting choice. It is nestled among towering pines and overlooking the serene Juncob Lake. Pinecrest Northwoods offers an idyllic setting that transforms any wedding into a memorable event. As a wedding photographer who recently shot KC & Kate’s wedding, I can’t praise Pinecrest Northwoods enough for its stunning beauty! Even better than the scenery is how Madi, the owner, goes above and beyond to make each couple’s wedding day perfect. If you’re considering an Upper Peninsula wedding, I highly recommend looking into Pinecrest Northwoods.

Historic Charm at Pinecrest Northwoods

One of the standout features of KC and Kate’s Pinecrest Northwoods wedding is its rich history. The property boasts several cabins that are over 100 years old, adding a touch of historic charm to their wedding. Madi has taken meticulous care to turn every corner into the most perfectly curated backdrop for any up north wedding. From the getting ready room to the wrap around front porch, no detail has been left undone.

Intimate Candlelight Reception

KC & Kate’s reception at Pinecrest Northwoods is nothing short of magical either. Held in the Great Room of the lodge, the dinner is served by candlelight. This creates an intimate and romantic atmosphere that is perfect for an Upper Peninsula wedding. The soft, flickering glow of the candles adds a warm, inviting feel to the Lodge. Side note: due to it’s age, the Lodge does not have air conditioning. So if you choose to have the candles the Great Room heats up a significant amount. That works out great though if you’re wedding is when temps are a bit cooler up north. Either way, this intimate setting is perfect for capturing beautiful, candid moments and heartfelt celebrations.

Locally Sourced

Speaking of dinner, the Delft Bistro did an absolutely incredible job with the food. KC & Kate kindly offered me a plate to go and I am SO happy that I took them up on it! Everything was mouth-watering. I would drive back up there right now just for another plate. The spread included salad, salmon, chicken, Brussels sprouts, and potatoes. What’s even cooler is that Delft Bistro locally sources many of their ingredients. I love supporting local businesses!
