Plymouth wedding couple leans up against tree and smiles at each other

Plymouth Wedding | Danielle & Nick

April marks the beginning of “wedding season” in Michigan. The weather is sometimes hit or miss around that time, but we start to see the light at the end of the winter tunnel. Danielle and Nick’s Plymouth wedding ended up with an overcast and slightly chilly day. However that was okay with me because overcast makes for the best light.

The First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth has a huge, beautiful pipe organ behind the altar. The organ adds an interesting visual element for photos. It is a little dark inside the sanctuary, but the stained glass windows let in a beautiful soft light. Their Plymouth micro wedding ceremony had such a charming feel to it. A small number of guests gathered toward the front of the church to watch them exchange vows. Their son even got to be included in the ceremony which is such a sweet touch.

Let the Crazies Come Out

After we had finished the family photos, I took Danielle and Nick outside the church for a few images with just the two of them. We were in the middle of them and a woman neither of them or myself knew walked up to us. She started carrying on a crazy conversation, she wasn’t even talking about their wedding, it was so off-the-wall. The three of us had a good laugh, then excused ourselves to move to a different location.

Nick proposed to Danielle at Parmenters Cider Mill in Northville. Naturally with being so close to there, we headed over for some photos along the river bank. I had never been to that cider mill, but what an adorable place! They always have fresh cider and donuts in the fall. They’re even are host to a winery and brewery open year round. I would love the chance to go back in the fall to photograph an adorable engagement session!
