Depot Town Wedding | Alexandra & Marc

Alexandra and Marc’s Depot Town wedding overflowed with charm and personality! They tied the knot at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse, a historic venue in the heart of Depot Town. With rustic beams and brick walls, it offered the perfect backdrop for their love story.

Blending Sakura and Pokémon Details

From the start, Alexandra and Marc made sure their wedding reflected who they are. They combined their love of Pokémon with the beauty of Japanese sakura blossoms. Their soft grey and light pink color palette complemented the romantic florals beautifully.

Alexandra bought two Pikachu plushies, dressing them in custom made wedding outfits to match the couple. How adorable is that? They also created a custom Mr. & Mrs. Pikachu Pokémon card that read, “I Choose You!” Below, it said, “Choose the partner you want to spend the rest of your life with!”

Even their toasting glasses featured a Pikachu couple etched onto the glass, adding a fun, personal touch. Finally, their cake stole the show! It featured three tiers wrapped with delicate sakura branches winding up each layer.

Portraits at the Historic Caboose

After the ceremony, we explored Depot Town for portraits. Naturally, we headed to the nearby red-brown caboose. It added a fun pop of color and a nod to local history.

Dave Wheeler, a local historian, uncovered its story. Built in 1922 in Ontario, it first belonged to the Michigan Central Railroad. Later, the New York Central Railroad took ownership.

Radford Roof Repair restored the caboose with care. They painted it the classic red-brown color and added bright yellow handrails. Black-painted wheels completed the look. Cal Sign Co. add the original New York Central Railroad logo.

The Perfect Depot Town Wedding Day

In the end, Alexandra and Marc’s Depot Town wedding felt personal, playful, and full of love. The Freighthouse, the historic caboose, and the couple’s unique touches created a day to remember.

Every detail reflected their story — blending history, creativity, and heartfelt joy.
