Brittany and Jimmy sharing their first dance at Parkway Place during their Maumee wedding reception.

Maumee Wedding | Brittany & James

Some weddings stick with you long after the last song has played. Brittany and Jimmy’s Maumee wedding was exactly that. As a referral from a longtime friend of mine, I had the pleasure of meeting them in Brighton to discuss their day. It wasn’t long before we were laughing and swapping stories. Brittany hinted at a surprise she was planning for Jimmy. Let me tell you, it turned out to be one of the most memorable moments of the entire day.

A Dino-mite First Look

Brittany adores dinosaurs, so she found the perfect way to bring her love for them into her elegant winter wedding. During their first look, instead of her wedding gown, Brittany appeared in a giant inflatable T-Rex costume! The sheer surprise and laughter it brought Jimmy was priceless. It set the tone for a day full of joy, love, and a few unexpected prehistoric guests.

As a little bonus surprise from me, I brought along a bag of my son’s dinosaur toys. After capturing the traditional ring shots, I posed the toys playfully with the rings. When Brittany and Jimmy later saw these images in their gallery, they burst out laughing. It was the perfect personal touch for their dinosaur-themed surprises.

The fun didn’t stop there. Brittany’s maid of honor made a grand entrance at the reception dressed as a triceratops, much to the delight of everyone in attendance. The room was filled with laughter, and it really broke the ice, getting everyone ready to celebrate.

Holiday Magic at Parkway Place

Brittany and Jimmy’s reception took place at the stunning Parkway Place in Maumee. The venue was beautifully decorated for the holidays, featuring lit pine trees behind the head table that added a cozy, festive charm. We snuck away to a nearby park to capture some portraits under twinkling holiday lights, which gave their gallery an extra winter glow.

When the party got underway, the dance floor was packed! From heartfelt speeches to all-out dance-offs, their Maumee wedding was the perfect combination of elegance and fun.

A Maumee Wedding as Unique as the Couple

Brittany and Jimmy’s day was a true reflection of who they are—fun-loving, warm, and full of life. I feel so lucky to have been part of such an unforgettable wedding filled with laughter, surprises, and love.

Their Maumee wedding reminded me that the best celebrations are the ones where couples fully embrace who they are—and maybe throw in a dinosaur or two for good measure!
