Woldumar Engagement Session | Collin & Natalie

Some sessions just feel like instant magic—and this Woldumar engagement was definitely one of them. Natalie and Collin showed up with big smiles, two adorable pups, and so much love for each other. From the moment we met, I knew photographing these two would be easy and fun. We soaked in the golden light, laughed our way through the trails, and created some truly beautiful moments together.

A Sweet Start to Natalie and Collin’s Woldumar Engagement

I always get a little excited when I meet another Natalie. The name is more popular now, but it still feels like a rare treat. From the very first phone consultation with Natalie and her fiancé Collin, I knew we were going to have a blast. We clicked right away while chatting about their fall wedding plans. I could already picture the kind of magic we’d make together. Until their big day rolls around, I’m thrilled to share their gorgeous Woldumar engagement session.

Natalie had shared some inspo photos ahead of time, and we settled on Woldumar Nature Center in Lansing as the perfect backdrop. I had photographed a wedding there before but never had the chance to explore the trails. This time, we got to wander a bit deeper into the woods, and it absolutely paid off. They brought their two adorable pups along, plus a friend to help manage them when it was not their time to shine.

Bring the Dogs, But Also Bring the Friend

PRO TIP: if you plan to include your fur babies in your engagement session, bring a trusted friend along. Preferably someone your dogs know and love. This magical unicorn of a helper can keep the pups calm, hand out treats, and hold the leashes when needed. They’ll also kindly carry the “unmentionables” so we can focus on the fun stuff. Trust me it makes everything smoother and way less chaotic.

With the pups happy and occupied, we hit some of Woldumar’s most scenic trails. The golden hour light filtered through the trees like something out of a movie. Natalie, a former dance teacher, absolutely nailed every pose and twirl. Even without formal cues, she knew exactly how to move. Collin brought the steady, quiet energy that balanced her playful vibe perfectly.

Why I Loved This Woldumar Engagement

There’s just something special about photographing a couple who truly enjoy being together. Natalie and Collin kept things relaxed and lighthearted. They laughed easily, leaned into every prompt, and their connection showed in every frame. Woldumar Nature Center was the ideal location for them—natural, peaceful, and full of golden light.

Their Woldumar engagement session left me even more excited for their upcoming wedding. These two are the real deal. I feel lucky to have met them (and their sweet pups) and cannot wait to see what we create on their big day.
