Myers Lake Campground Wedding: A Celebration of Love and RV Life
It’s truly one of the highest compliments when another photographer hires me to capture their wedding, and that’s exactly what happened when Stacy, a local real estate photographer, reached out for her Myers Lake Campground wedding. She knew exactly what she was looking for: someone who edits with true-to-life colors. She wanted the colors in her photos to reflect exactly what she saw in real life, without any over-the-top editing trends like sepia tones or overly warm filters. And that’s exactly how I edit! While sepia tones may be popular now, I know that in a few years, couples may look back at those photos and cringe. I strive to create timeless memories with vibrant, natural colors that will never go out of style.
An RV Wedding? Yes, Please!
When Stacy shared that her wedding would take place at the RV park where they keep their camper, I was beyond excited. It really feeds my soul to see couples doing things their own way, and this was a perfect example of that. They invited their closest family and friends, but also opened up the celebration to everyone at the campground. Stacy and Paul have been visiting Myers Lake Campground for years, and the fellow campers have become like family to them. It was beautiful to see their loved ones surrounding them during the ceremony, and then to glance up the hill and see friends sitting behind their campers, casually watching the wedding unfold.
A Campground Wedding First Look
Stacy and Paul chose to do a first look before their ceremony, which is one of my favorite moments to capture at any wedding, especially a campground wedding. A first look creates such a private, intimate moment between the couple before the hustle and bustle of the ceremony. The atmosphere is more relaxed and low-pressure, which allows emotions to flow naturally. Often, during the ceremony, nerves can take over, and couples sometimes suppress their feelings. A first look creates the perfect safe space to let all those emotions come to the surface and enjoy the moment with no distractions.
The Fun of the Photo Rush
At larger weddings, one of the most common requests I get is for photos of every guest in attendance. While it can sometimes be a challenge to get to everyone, Stacy and Paul found the perfect solution: a photo rush! They set up two chairs in the middle of the dance floor and had their DJ announce that, for the duration of a song, guests could run up and get a quick photo with the couple. It didn’t have to be perfect—just a quick snapshot and on to the next one. It was hilarious, fun, and perfectly reflected the playful spirit of Stacy and Paul’s wedding. I highly recommend the photo rush if you want to make sure your guests are captured in a fun, low-key way.
Campground Weddings: A Trend Worth Celebrating
Stacy and Paul’s Myers Lake Campground wedding was a beautiful reminder that weddings don’t have to be traditional to be meaningful. Whether it’s a small gathering or a big celebration, what matters most is that the day feels authentic to you and your partner. A campground wedding, surrounded by family and friends who feel like family, is the perfect way to celebrate love your way. If you’re looking for a unique, intimate setting for your wedding, consider an outdoor or campground wedding—it could be exactly what you’re looking for!
