couple toasts at wellers carriage house wedding

Wellers Carriage House Wedding | Matt & Nicole

About ten or so years ago I had met Nicole when I bartered with her mom. She was helping me code my website and I was going to take their family photos. When she reached out asking if I could photograph her Wellers Carriage House wedding, I was ecstatic. It would be nice to catch up and see how everyone has grown. Not to mention Wellers Carriage House is a stunning wedding venue. Their grounds and each of their buildings have so much character, it’s a photographer’s dream!

Knee-ding Help

Gosh, I love a good pun! A few weeks prior to their wedding, I had torn my meniscus in one of my knees. It could not have been worse timing. I was headed into the busiest wedding season I’ve ever had! Thankfully, my second photographer offered to bring her adult daughter with her to help with coverage, no additional cost to Matt and Nicole of course! They were lifesavers! I always put on a brave face regardless of what I’m dealing with, but between the heat and the pain in my knee, I was moving slower than usual. They picked up my slack when I needed, and no one was any the wiser. That is one of the importance of having a second photographer. One person obviously can’t be everywhere at once, but also to be my literal right hand if need be.

Wellers Carriage House Wedding Magic

One of my favorite things about weddings at Wellers Carriage House, is the fairytale feel. Even though you are close to downtown Saline, they have done an excellent job making you forget that. Guests are transported to a quaint English garden, surrounded by lush trees. At night, they’re bathed in the soft, warm glow of the lights overhead as they dance across the floor. Pure wedded bliss. Matt and Nicole’s wedding is nothing short of magical. The evening air cooled off nicely, so after the guests ate dinner, they migrated to the outdoor dancefloor. The couple shared their first dance in the spotlight as their guests fade into the background. A beautiful, intimate moment between Matt and Nicole. Next, Nicole glided across the floor with her dad and then her stepdad. A moment so sweet, of course, tears were streaming down my face, thankfully hidden behind my camera. Then Matt and his mother took to the floor and the tears continued. Becoming a parent has made me so soft, but I adore every moment watching new couples’ relationship change with their parents in that very moment. Proud parents beaming as their children embark on the next chapter of their lives.
