Dexter Proposal | Declan & Emma

Capturing the Magic of a Dexter Proposal

When Declan reached out to me to photograph their Dexter proposal to Emma, I knew it was going to be something truly special. Proposals have always felt like pure magic to me—I grew up watching A Proposal Story on TLC and fell in love with those fairytale moments. Getting to capture one in real life? That’s the dream!

The Perfect Proposal Plan

Declan and I planned every detail carefully. To keep it a surprise, they told Emma they were heading out for couples photos before dinner. Meanwhile, their friends set up a gazebo decorated with dried lavender (which smelled absolutely incredible!) and other beautiful flowers. Every detail was arranged to create a romantic and personal atmosphere, making the moment even more special.

When the time came, Declan led Emma outside and got down on one knee. The look of surprise and joy on her face was priceless. It was such a sweet and intimate moment between just the two of them, with Declan’s parents watching from the front door before stepping out to congratulate the happy couple. The love and excitement in the air were undeniable, and it was an honor to capture every second of it.

A Mini Engagement Session in Dexter

After the big “yes,” we did a mini engagement session around the yard, incorporating their gorgeous pine and apple trees. The beautiful fall light filtering through the trees made for some truly magical shots. We focused on capturing their genuine emotions, laughter, and love as they soaked in the moment. The relaxed and joyful vibe of the session reflected the happiness of their engagement perfectly.

Celebrating the Dexter Proposal

Once we wrapped up photos, Declan and Emma headed out to dinner to celebrate their engagement in true romantic style. It was the perfect way to end an already unforgettable evening. Their love story is just beginning, and I have no doubt that their future together will be just as beautiful as this moment.

If you’re planning a Dexter proposal, I’d love to capture your special moment! Let’s create timeless memories together.
