Ann Arbor micro wedding couple kisses outside of hotel

Micro Wedding in Ann Arbor | Ashley & Roger

Ashley and Roger had slightly different agenda when they first contacted me, but like most things during COVID, plans were derailed. Originally, we were going to meet at the courthouse for their ceremony, then do some photos downtown Ann Arbor, and meet up with their guests for an intimate dinner. Instead, a few days before, we quickly shifted gears to an Ann Arbor micro wedding at the Hampton Inn.

Ann Arbor Micro Wedding

We started the day by taking some photos with Ashley and her family. Once we were done with those it was time for the first look. I constantly go back and forth with which is my favorite, first looks or seeing each other when walking down the aisle. Both are emotional moments, but I do love the intimacy of the private first look. After the excitement of those, we moved on to the family formals. The weather was threatening rain all day, but we got lucky, and it held off until we were finishing up with photos outside. We all gathered back inside for the vows. Their ceremony was the shortest ceremony I have witnessed in all my 13 years. However, it was perfect for the couple, and honestly, I loved it! If I were to get married again, that’s how I’d want it done.

Bonding Over Coffee

The couple met at Starbucks and instantly hit it off over a shared love of coffee. So naturally, they wanted to incorporate that into their micro wedding. Ashley’s mom is crazy talented and handmade all the favors. They included coffee sleeves with each guest’s name embroidered on them, and a bag embroidered with the wedding details full of coffee beans. As a self-proclaimed coffee addict, I definitely approve of these favors! The aroma of the beans filled up the small conference room where they held the ceremony. It was one of the best smelling weddings I have attended!
